


Kabul, 17 July 2025 – In a landmark move towards regional integration and economic cooperation, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, visited Kabul today to sign the Framework Agreement on the Joint Feasibility Study for the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (UAP) Railway Project. The signing ceremony reflects Pakistan’s growing role as a regional connector and promoter of peace, development, and trade.
Accompanied by a high-level delegation — including the Minister for Railways, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister / Special Representative for Afghanistan, and the Secretary, Ministry of Railways — the Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional progress through sustainable infrastructure development.
The UAP Railway Project aims to link Uzbekistan to Pakistani seaports via Afghanistan, providing Central Asian countries with vital access to global markets. Pakistan’s initiative not only promotes economic ties but also builds bridges of trust and cooperation across borders. Once completed, the project is expected to transform the region’s economic geography, reduce transit times, and unlock new trade corridors.
Pakistan as a Peaceful Partner in Regional Progress
Senator Dar’s presence in Kabul underscores Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic engagement with its neighbors. The visit included bilateral talks with the Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, as well as a courtesy call on the Acting Prime Minister of Afghanistan, where discussions focused on deepening bilateral ties, enhancing regional stability, and promoting peaceful development.
Through such diplomatic engagements and infrastructure initiatives, Pakistan is shaping a positive international image as a reliable partner in regional peace, economic cooperation, and sustainable connectivity.
