Tianjin, China — On the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) meeting in Tianjin, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held a significant bilateral meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

During the high-level engagement, DPM/FM Dar extended warm congratulations to the Government of China on the successful hosting of the SCO CFM. He also expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Chinese leadership for the gracious hospitality extended to the Pakistani delegation.

The two foreign ministers engaged in wide-ranging discussions covering vital bilateral and multilateral issues. Key topics included the ongoing progress and strategic importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship project under China’s Belt and Road Initiative, which continues to serve as a cornerstone of regional connectivity and economic development.

Reaffirming the deep-rooted All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, both sides noted with satisfaction the close coordination across various sectors, including infrastructure, energy, trade, security cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges.

The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Pakistan and China to enhance their strategic collaboration to foster regional peace, stability, and sustainable development. Both leaders emphasized the significance of multilateralism and reiterated their joint resolve to strengthen cooperative mechanisms within the SCO and other international forums.

This diplomatic interaction reflects the enduring strength and mutual trust that characterize the Pakistan-China relationship, which continues to evolve as a stabilizing force in the region and beyond.
