Pakistan and the European Union reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations during the 10th Pakistan–EU Political Dialogue held today in Brussels. The meeting was co-chaired by Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, Ambassador Amna Baloch, and Deputy Secretary-General of the European External Action Service (EEAS), Ambassador Olaf Skoog.
The Dialogue provided a timely platform to review the progress under the Pakistan–EU Strategic Engagement Plan (2019), which continues to serve as a cornerstone for broad-based cooperation between the two partners.
Comprehensive Review of Bilateral Relations
Discussions encompassed the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation, including democracy, governance, trade, climate change, human rights, development, migration, and connectivity. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the expanding scope of partnership and stressed the importance of sustained engagement under structured institutional frameworks.
Significantly, both delegations agreed to explore the inclusion of enhanced security-related elements within the framework of the Political Dialogue, signaling a potential deepening of cooperation in the areas of counterterrorism, cyber security, and regional stability.
Regional and Global Outlook
The two sides also held an in-depth exchange of views on regional and global developments, with particular attention to the evolving geopolitical landscape in South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Mutual commitment to peaceful resolution of conflicts, respect for international law, and the central role of diplomacy and multilateralism were emphasized.
Strengthening Multilateral Cooperation
Recognising their shared interests in upholding the multilateral order, Pakistan and the EU pledged to strengthen collaboration at multilateral forums, including the United Nations, particularly on matters related to peacekeeping, sustainable development, and climate action.

Looking Ahead
The Dialogue concluded with both sides expressing their intent to build on recent high-level exchanges and enhance future cooperation through structured, institutional mechanisms. They reiterated their commitment to a partnership grounded in mutual respect, shared values, and long-term strategic convergence.
This latest engagement marks a significant step forward in Pakistan–EU relations, reinforcing their joint vision for a peaceful, prosperous, and interconnected world.
