This afternoon, His Eminence Judge Sheikh Khaldoun Araymat, Head of the Islamic Center for Studies and Media, accompanied by his son, lawyer Marhaf Araymat, paid a courtesy visit to the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Lebanon, His Excellency Dr. Walid Bukhari, at the ambassadorial residence in Yarzeh.

During the meeting, Judge Araymat presented a copy of his latest scholarly publication entitled “The Maronites in Lebanon: The Dialectic of Adaptation between Arabism and Islam in the Ottoman Era.” The exchange sparked a rich and thoughtful dialogue on pivotal issues concerning Lebanon, the Arab world, and the broader Islamic community.

In a statement following the meeting, Judge Araymat emphasized the depth of mutual respect and appreciation shared between Lebanon and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He remarked:

“This visit is an expression of sincere admiration and gratitude for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its wise leadership. The Kingdom continues to play a central and constructive role in supporting Arab and Islamic causes, particularly in promoting Lebanon’s stability, unity, and institutional renewal.

Whether through its active participation in the Quintet Committee or through direct diplomatic engagement, the Kingdom has consistently demonstrated a brotherly commitment to Lebanon’s sovereignty and well-being.

Saudi Arabia’s enduring support is a cornerstone of Arab solidarity, reinforcing Lebanon’s unique civilizational identity and fostering cooperation based on shared values and mutual respect.

Our conversation with His Excellency Dr. Walid Bukhari offered an invaluable opportunity to express heartfelt thanks for his unwavering efforts to strengthen the bonds between our nations. His dedication reflects the visionary leadership of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is charting a forward-looking course for the region—one grounded in faith, knowledge, innovation, and human dignity.

We pray that these noble endeavors continue to advance peace, prosperity, and cohesion across the Arab and Islamic worlds, while reaffirming Lebanon’s place as a free, sovereign, and dynamic nation at the heart of the East.”

The visit underscored the shared cultural and diplomatic values that continue to define the historic relationship between Lebanon and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—built on dialogue, cooperation, and a shared vision for regional harmony.
