In a significant display of enduring diplomatic and military ties, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, concluded a high-level official visit to the People’s Republic of China. The visit, marked by extensive engagements with top Chinese political and military leadership, reaffirmed the unwavering strength of the Pakistan-China strategic partnership.

During his stay in Beijing, the COAS called on senior Chinese leaders including His Excellency Han Zheng, Vice President of China, and His Excellency Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of China. These meetings centered on regional and global political developments, progress under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and the necessity for synchronized strategies to address evolving geopolitical challenges.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over the state of bilateral relations, emphasizing shared values such as sovereign equality, multilateralism, and regional peace. The Chinese leadership praised Pakistan’s Armed Forces for their vital role in maintaining stability in South Asia and commended Pakistan’s continued support for regional connectivity and security initiatives.
On the military front, Field Marshal Munir held in-depth consultations with top Chinese military officials, including General Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), General Chen Hui, Political Commissar of the PLA Army, and Lieutenant General Cai Zhai Jun, Chief of Staff of the PLA Army.
The COAS received a ceremonial guard of honour upon arrival at the PLA Army Headquarters, underscoring the historic camaraderie between the two militaries.

These meetings facilitated robust discussions on defence cooperation, focusing on joint counterterrorism efforts, advanced training programs, defence modernization, and strategic interoperability. Both sides stressed the need for enhanced institutional collaboration to address hybrid warfare and transnational threats.
The Chinese military leadership reaffirmed its confidence in the strength of Pakistan-China defence ties and acknowledged Pakistan’s indispensable role in fostering regional security.
Field Marshal Asim Munir thanked China for its continued support and reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to deepening military-to-military cooperation across all strategic dimensions.

The visit reflects the expanding scope of Pakistan-China politico-military relations and highlights the two nations’ shared resolve to promote long-term peace, security, and prosperity through sustained engagement and strategic dialogue.
