Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held a significant meeting with Peter Launsky, Special Envoy for Global Affairs of the Austrian Chancellor, on the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development at the United Nations Headquarters.

During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Austria relations and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation. Key areas of focus included education, tourism, and business—sectors seen as mutually beneficial and ripe for expanded engagement.
Mr. Launsky praised the Pakistani diaspora in Austria for their active contributions to the country’s economy and the enrichment of its social fabric. Both dignitaries acknowledged the importance of people-to-people linkages in fostering stronger diplomatic and economic ties.
On the multilateral front, the two sides exchanged views on enhanced collaboration at international platforms, especially within the United Nations framework. Austria acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s active role and valuable contributions as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, particularly during its recent presidency.
The meeting reflected the shared vision of both countries to work closely on global challenges, sustainable development goals, and international peace and security through constructive multilateralism.
