Islamabad / Nanning – July 2025

In a significant step toward strengthening cultural and diplomatic ties, Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) and Guangxi Radio and Television (GXRTV) have formalized a cooperation protocol to co-produce a joint documentary titled “The Path of Development – Pakistan.” The documentary will mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, a milestone of enduring partnership and shared progress.

The agreement was signed by Ms. Ambreen Jan, Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Managing Director of PTV, and Ms. Zheng Kui, Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Head of the International Cooperation Department at GXRTV. The signing ceremony reflects a deepening media collaboration between the two countries, emphasizing people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding.

According to the protocol, the documentary will consist of two episodes, each 30 minutes long, and is set for broadcast in May 2026, aligning with the official anniversary date of diplomatic ties between the two nations. The production aims to highlight Pakistan’s development journey, as well as the historic and strategic friendship between Pakistan and China, which has evolved over decades into a multi-faceted cooperation model.

“This initiative is a celebration of our long-standing brotherhood and a creative reflection of our shared aspirations for progress and peace,” said Ambreen Jan. “It is an opportunity to present Pakistan’s development story to a global audience through the lens of a trusted partner.”

The documentary will be aired on national television and digital media platforms in both countries, ensuring wide outreach and accessibility. With joint planning and production, it is expected to offer a balanced narrative rooted in factual storytelling, showcasing key developmental achievements in Pakistan while also reaffirming the China-Pakistan friendship—often termed as “iron brothers” in diplomatic circles.

This collaboration is a continuation of the robust media and cultural exchanges under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), underscoring a commitment to shared prosperity and regional connectivity.

As both countries prepare to commemorate this milestone anniversary, The Path of Development – Pakistan is set to be a powerful audiovisual testament to seven and a half decades of trust, collaboration, and mutual respect.
